Paris | France - Part 1.

The latest destination that I visited was none only than Paris, France. The wonderful city of love and fashion! I have been here once before on a school trip but it was nice to come back again older and wiser and able to appreciate everything a lot more. After everything that has happened it was wonderful to see Paris in all its glory and wanted to share my trip and pictures with you all (This time I managed to bring my memory card in the camera).
It was an early start for a weekend away on the Friday morning (15th April) flying from Terminal 4 with airfrance. Luckily it was a quick flight into Charles De Gualle so I could make my way to the hotel and sleep before the adventures began.

For the weekend I was staying at Hotel Ibis Budget Paris Portde De Vincennes which was about a 15 minute metro journey into central paris by metro. The hotel was cheap but cheerful and did just the job for what was needed for a weekend. Continental breakfast could be added for around an extra 6 euros per person per day.
I was pleasantly surprised with the room. It was big enough for two people and two small cabin bags with room to manouvre. It didn't have the normal set up of a room and bathroom as the sink was in the bedroom and the shower and the toilet had their own rooms but I guess that can be a blessing in disguise lol. The room had different light settings, my favourite being the underlighting that went across the middle of the room that looked wonderful in the dark, the other being in the shower I noticed the shower head had a LED light that changed from red to green.

To get around the city I used the metro everywhere and it was so eaasy to use (if you can do the London underground then the paris metro system is just as easy). So after a wel deserved nap it was time to explore and find somewhere to eat. I managed to make my way back to Palais Louvre stop (where the easybus drops you off which I used as the transfer from the airport) and had a look round and low and behold stumble across the Louvre and museum itself. Of course I had to stop and take pictures and do the typical tourist pose of pretending to touch the top. I came just at the right time when it was coming to dusk so the lights inside were coming in and it looked even more beautiful!

After I felt like I had taken enough photos, it was time to go searching for a place to eat. I found a lovely cafe/restaurant just around the corner that had a decent deal on a three course meal so I thought I would try it out. Unforunately, I forgot to make note of the name of the place, but if I come across it agan I will be sure to let you guys know.
For starters I had the the vegetable soup which was delicious! For my mains I had spaghetti (yes, i know I came a the way to paris and had spaghetti, but it was a very limiting menu) but I did end the meal with crepes and nutella.

Once the meal was finished it was time to walk it off. Walking around in Paris at night is such a beautiful thing to do with its wonderful lights and architecture. Just remember to always be safe and vigilant though!
That was pretty much friday night in a nutshell, as I had to save my energy for all the excitement to come.
Make sure you stay tuned for part 2 on my adventures to Paris...
Enjoy!
