Degree or no degree? That is the question...

Untitled.jpg

3 years of studying. 10 months since I completed my degree in Event Management. 4 months since I graduated. Over £9,000 tution fees and yet I feel no closer to my dream job. Sometimes leave me questioning was it all worth it? I feel like I'm in this endless cycle of applying for event jobs but getting rejected because I don't have enough experience... and yet how do you expect me to get this experience if you don't give me a chance to learn within the job?

Of course I'm not going to give up that easily though. Rome was not built in a day, as they say. I'm determined and I belive if its meant to be then it will be.

Event Management. Not a real degree? Not a real subject? Yeah I've heard it all before and yet it doesn't phase me cause I feel priviledged and lucky enough to get the opportunity to go to university. I know my parents, aunties, uncles and grandparents didnt get the chance to and I'm actually the first person to go and graduate. Thank God for that! And it was all worth it to see the smile on my parents face on my graduation day!!

I saw a quote the other day saying:

"Take pride in how far you've come. Have faith in how far you can go, but don't forget to enjoy the journey"

and that is exactly what I am going to do. However, in the mean time if anyone knows anyone looking for a trainee/assistant/junior wedding or event planner, let me know :) I am here and willing!
