For those of you that know me and have me on Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat will know how much I've been raving on about my holiday to Valencia! It was definately a well deserved week away and enjoyed it more with the company around me. So I thought I would create a post and share some of the activities and photos with you guys so you can have a small understanding of the fun I had!

So we were flying out on the 1st June at 9:05 so you can imagine it was an early start, we (Two of my friends and myself) were out by 6 cause I had to leave my car at Airport parking. Checked in (Easyjet), had a cheeky maccy D breakfast and was about a 2 hour flight to Valencia. Once we arrived our other friend who is living out there for their Erasamus year met us at the aiport and then we got the metro to our apartment. We found the apartment on Air BnB and was really nice!! So after fighting over who was going to have which room, we got changed and were greeted by some suprise guests!! (They know who they are). After that we decided to have a look around the area and get something to eat. I was suprised out how cheap the food was aswell, as it was a monday there was a deal at this restaurant for mini sandwiches for 0.50 each!!

25th July 2015

To christen our first night there we decided to go out as it was someones birthday and I guess this was the first time we were going to experience the Valencian nightlife. Tbf it wasn't a bad night, the music was fairly decent but I just couldn't get into it cause I was so tired from the days journey. I was ready for my bed!!

On Tuesday the 2nd June we decided to take a tour around the city and visit Old Valencia, it was a good 1 hour more walk from where we were staying into the city centre but it was worth it. The weather was lovely and hot and we got to take loads of pictures and see lots of sights along the way which you can see below.

We went to visit the cathedral and have a look around the ground floor, we didn't venture any further up just because it cost too much but I managed to take a few decent pictures before heading back out and majority of the tour was taken by video (which I haven't quite figured out how to upload yet haha). To end the second day we went to a buffet in the city centre called Restaurante Neco. It was a small restuatant but lovely food and staff so would definitely recommened the restuarant if you are ever in the area.  It was nice all of us sitting around having a laugh and catching up. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of the food or the restuarant cause we all placed the task of not using our phones while there and actually conversing with one another instead of being ruled by social media and the person who failed has to pay for everyones meals, it was certainly a challenge but we succeeded.

Wednesday the girls and I decided that we were going to explore more of Valencia and booked an open bus tour and a boat trip. It was a package deal so worked out to be a good price. It was a hop on/hop of tour so we could listen to the audio along the way and get off a designated stops to have a look round if we chose to. The boat trip wasn't quite what we had in mind, we thought it was going to be large extravagant boat with music and a group of other people but it just turned out to be just us on a small wooden boat that looked like it would crumble if anything touched it BUT we made the most out of it, there was music playing and we took plenty of videos and pictures. We tried not to tire ourselves out as we were going to go on another night out that day to a club called Ani+ (pronounced Animas). I personally enjoyed myself that night, the music was good up until they kept replaying the same songs for the rest of the night but by that point I had drank and taken a few shots that I didn't realise. The club was opened way past 6am but by this point as the club was next to the beach we walked across to watch the sunrise and take more pictures. It was such a lovely view.

Thursday 4th June was the beach day. The aim was to get up early and just spend the whole day on the beach chilling and relaxing. However, we didn't really take into account the effects of the night before. As we didn't get in until 7am, we didn't wake up and get ready til after 1/2pm which was already half the day gone. But we still manage to drag ourselves back to the beach with some music and some snacks and enjoy the rest of the lovely weather. It was so hot but I didn't complain cause I knew I would hate it more if it was raining. Had a cheeky dip in the sea and even played a game of UNO. As we got to the beach quite late we made sure that we made most of the day and didn't end up leaving the beach until around 7/8pm. I would have stayed later but we had planned to go home and change and have a night in cooking dinner and playing games. Have a night off from having a night out.

Friday 5th July. One more day in Valencia until it was all back to reality, so we had another tourist day out. We decided that we were going to go to the zoo as its meant to be one of the biggest in Europe (or something of the sort). After another well deserved lie in we made our way on the metro through the city to the zoo and had an adventure there. There's not a lot to say about the zoo really because I am sure everyone has been to one, you walk around, look at the animals and take pictures. It was a massive zoo so it took us a couple of hours but the animals certainly kept us entertained. Im suprised my battery lasted as long as it did with the amount of pictures and video and snapchats that I took that day. It was just the girls that went to the zoo so as we had a little more time before we had to meet up with the rest of the group we decided that we would go to the lake next door and go on a paddle boat ride (I think thats what they are called). We booked it for half an hour and peddled around the lake, it might not sound exciting but I found it quite relaxing - but that could have been because I wasn't the one peddling haha.

Once our time ran out we made our way to Bonair shopping centre where we met up with the rest of the group along the way for dinner. We went to Brasselnya restuarant which was a Brazilian buffet (My whole vegan situation went out this window this holiday) but the guilt was temporarily worth it. The food was lovely, the waitors came round with the meats on the sticks and carved them infront of you, and it was unlimited wine and soft drinks!! Take note of the name cause you won't be dissapointed if you tried it. It was just what I needed to line the stomach before our last night out in Valencia.

After going back to the apartment to get ready and pre-drink we went out to Umbracle which is a club that is part of the city of arts and science. I personally didn't think the music was as good at this club as Animas but the decor was lovely, it was like a massive solid marquee that had an upstairs and downstairs. The clubs here also know how to keep their customers because it went on again until after 6am. After deciding to call it a night/morning we made our way back to our apartments but not before stopping to get some pizza.

Saturday 6th June. Our last day in Valencia :( our flight wasn't until 9pm so at least we got to make the most out of the day. Once again, after a well desrved lie in from recovering from the night before, we had to clean up the flat so that it was left in the same state we found it, we had to ensure that we would get out deposit back! After the hard part was done, we then went back into the city centre where we decided to do our last minute shopping, buying souvenirs and presents for friends and family. As our flight wasn't until quite late we decided to have our last meal in the city centre, we had walked past this restaurant a couple of times and hadn't gone inside to decided that this would be the best and probably our last opportunity to try it out. The prices were quite expensive but to be fair the food was worth it, it was a decent size and very tasty. We ate, took our last group shot and raced back to the apartment to do last minute checks and make our way to the airport :( our flight was an hour delayed, which im not sure if that was a good or bad thing but we mooched around duty free before it was time to hop on the plane and fly back to England.

It was a short and sweet trip but Valencia I had a great time and would definitely come see you again. Below are a few random shots from the holiday.

Enjoy!
