1ST FEBRUARY 2016

Beckworth Emporium

It seems like all I ever go out to eat is Afternoon Tea these days but I just love going to new places to experience them. I was first introduced to Beckworth by my mum after she came here for lunch with a few of her friends. She raved on about it so much that I forced her to take me there the next time so I could try it for myself and I did love it.

So I decided that the next time I came I would try their afternoon tea, which I did... A LOT of times. So I thought I would share my overall experience with you guys and you may even want to go try it for yourselves afterwards if you haven't already.

Beckworth Emporium is located at 120-140 Glebe Road, Northants, NN6 0DL.

It's situated in a very countryside area down a country road but the drive is all worth it in the end. Beckworth not only has a restaurant but a small market/shop inside that sells local organic products. You can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea throughout the year here.

While you are waiting for your food to arrive you are first served your drinks. The afternoon tea comes with any hot drink so I choose between mocha or herbal tea. My mum usually goes for a cappucino. As far as hot drinks go, you can't really go wrong (haha), you are served with a small jug of milk if neccessary and on the table are sachets of sugar and sweetners.

One of the things that I love about beckworth emporium is the fact that it doesn't serve the sandwiches etc on the standard 3 tier plates but on a black slate plate which I have recently become a big fan of. I just find the layour very modern and different.

The sandwiches are as expected; chicken, ham, egg & cress, cheese & tomato etc which are set in middle and topped with crisps and cress. Around the edges of the board are the sweet treats. Sometimes on two opposite ends there is a slice of carrot cake but depending on the time of year there could be a mince pie for christmas or just your traditional scone accompanied by clotted cream and jam.

Other sweet treats that you may be delighted with is a small jar of trifle, bisuits with cream and fruit and a different flavoured tartlets.

Overall, the experience at Beckworth Emporium has always been an enjoyable one. Depending on what time of the year you goto visit there is always something to experience there (Ice skating in december).
