Birchbox | January
When I received my January addition Birchbox I was so excited. I love trying out new products and seeing what does and doesn't work for me as everyone is different so no one thing will be the same. This year Birchbox have teamed up with Pinterest to help inspire you in different ways with lots of new ideas. So I'm going to give you a breakdown of what was in my birchbox and what I thought of them after trying them out.

When the parcel arrived it was enclosed in pink cardboard (address on the other side) which made it really easy to open to reveal the actual Birchbox inside. It is about A5 in side (3D) and has a lid and a bottom, which makes great storage afterwards.
Once you open the box there is a welcome booklet that details all of the products and special offers, a pack of postcards for different headings (nails, makeup, 2016 goals etc) each uniquely designed, a welcome card as it was my first box I received and of course a small bag containing the products themselves.

WHAT This product is packed with organic ingredients such as white lotus and yi yi ren which transforms into a luxurious smooth foam once in contact with water which leaves your skin-softening clean
HOW Massage a coin sized amount of gel into damp skin and rinse thoroughly
OPINION This foam smells divine, its a mixture of soap and baby powder which leaves you feeling fresh. You only need a small amount as it foams up fairly quickly so helps the product last longer

WHAT This is one of Birchbox's bestsellers as it conditions, detangles and minimises frizz whilst protecting against UV rays and heat styling
HOW After shampooing and conditioning, spritz onto damp hair from 4-6 inches away and comb through
OPINION I haven't really got to use this to the fullest as I have braids in at the moment but i did spray some on my scalp after washing it and it did help with my dryness. Also on a plus it does smell wonderful. I think I will further try this product once I take out my braids.

ABSOLUTION L'EAU SOIR ET MATIN
THE CLEANSING WATER
WHAT Makes taking off makeup a piece of cake with this purifying cleansing water. Packed with hazelnut oil and aloe vera, it helps to remove all traces of makeup and leave your skin feeling soft and refreshed.
HOW Apply a small amount of the product onto a cotton pad and wipe over the face (no rinsing required)
OPINION After using a makeup wipe to remove majority of my makeup I then used this to remove any leftovers and it certainly picked up more than the wipe did. As the product is very watery you don't need to use a lot. I did notice it leftmy skin quite dry afterwards so I used my normal face cream just to restore the moisture.

WHAT This eyeliner is perfect for both the novice and the expert as this chubby pen helps achieve an effortless slick of smudge-proof definition to the line.
HOW Dot along the lash line then connect the dots for a smooth line (flick out if you're feeling brave)
OPINION I'm a complete novice when it comes to putting on eyeliner. I usually usepencil and line my bottom eyelid and from time to time I will use liquid eyeliner to do my top lid. So i tried this out and I found it suprisngly easy to use. The fat nip helps to control the pen and create a perfect line across.

WHAT One coat of this product will make the difference to your lashes. The mink coloured formula seperates, lengthens and boots each individual lash to prepare it for your mascara
HOW Apply one coat from root to tip before applying your mascara for some volume or you can rock it alone for a natural look!
OPINION Once I applied my one coat I could see that it did seperate the lashes and made them slightly longer however because the primer isn't black I felt my lashes didn't look thick enough so I had to put my normal mascara ontop to make them look more bold.

OPINION This was actually quite handy cause I don't have a small mirror that I can carry around and use so I can see myself using this a lot. The only thing I am worried about is the fact that the mirror side is all open and exposed so it may get easily scratched and dirty.
