Pentahotel | Birmingham
Pentahotel Birmingham is located on Ernest Street/Holloway Head Road, B1 1NS. I stayed here for my birthday as I was spending the weekend in Birmingham and wanted to stay somewhere central to the city centre. I have stayed at a few hotels in Birmingham so I wanted to try somewhere I had never been to before.
One of the main perksof this hotel is that the hotel provided free late checkout up until 3pm. It migh not sound like a big deal but I love to have lie-ins and when most hotels charge £10 an hour extra that you stay past checkout, then this makes a nice change.
I got to the hotel quite late on arrival so I apologise if the pictures aren't great quality as they weren't taken in natural light.

When you first walk through the entrance of pentahotel birmingham you are greeted by the bar and a few dining tables. You check in/out by the bar which I think is a clever tactic into getting their customers to buy a drink. Which I guess works as when we arrived there were a few people crowded around the bar enjoying drinks whilst listening to music.
There was a bit of confusion to our room when we checked in as we were told their weren't any double rooms left but then they decided they would let us stay in one of their disabled access rooms (but not to pull any of the red tags in the room).

The room I had was quite spacious but this may have been down to it being a wheelchair access room. There was a complimentary bottle of water on the bedside table along with the standard tea and coffee facilities. There isn't a wardrobe as such but a hanging rail above the storage facilities for easy access to your clothes. All the bedrooms contain a 42" inch tv with your standard channels along with free access to a selection of films. I thought this was quite handy as it's always nice to lie in bed and watch films and eating snacks. The room is plainly decorated with white walls and a feature wall of the name and map of birmingham.

The bathroom was also spacious due to the same reasons. It was a large wet room with a toilet, standard sink and a second smaller sink that was closer to the toilet which I assume was for easy access for a wheel chair user. The wetroom was lovely designed. I loved the style of the sink and the tiles (Gave me great ideas for my own bathroom) The only downside to this wetroom style was the fact that either the drain wasn't working properly or the floor wasn't slanted enough for the water to run away so the bathroom did acquire a pool of water while you had a shower right up to the bathroom door. Added extras were cool urban toiletries in their own toilet bag for you to use or take away.

Overall, my stay at pentahotel birmingham was very enjoyable. Ther service from the staff was lovely as they were kind and attentive, the beds were really comfertable too which is good as I stayed for two nights. Pentahotel is a worldwide chain brand so would love to experience it in another city one day.

Note: Bottle of sparkling wine did not come with the room - it was something I bought myself

Enjoy!
